LomoShowcase : LomoChrome Metropolis with Hut (Mostly Candid)

I have a chance to see the work of Hut, the owner of Mostly Candid page that tested our LomoChrome Metropolis film for portraits on social media. When I saw his works, I am very impressed. Hello Hut! Please Introduce yourself to the reader.

Hi! Thank you for having me. You can call me "Hut". I'm from Bangkok, Thailand. I’m working in the Human Resources Department in the Hospitality Industry as my profession. I’m also a freelance and free-time photographer

What are you doing now?

I always try to learn new things whenever I’m available and try my best not to waste my free time for nothing. Mostly, I will choose to go out with my analog camera to practicing my skills. The darkroom is built at my home a few months ago. So I could enjoy processing my own films, printing, and other experiments for a better understanding of the art of analog photography. What I like to capture is a portrait. Currently, I start to study and practicing other styles such as Street and Landscape photography until I found myself that I could confident to take great photos in any place in every situation. Whenever I go, I will be happy to capture the moment along the way. **Currently I could process Lomography Potsdam Kino B&W as a BW Reversal. Could you please tell us about the starting point for shooting a film camera?

I got into photography since I have my own family and one lovely daughter. From what I remember… In the past when I was young my father was the one who captured all meaningful moments of our family with his film camera. I would like to be the personal photographer for my family too. First I start with a digital camera. A few years ago, one day my dad brought our grandfather’s old camera which is Leica IIIf. That was how it all began. Most of the people will know that this camera is quite hard to use due to the technology and system of the past era. I didn’t give up. After hard studying, practicing and asking for advice from a well-experienced photographer. Now a day the Leica IIIf become my number 1 from my top 5 list of analog cameras. In my opinion, The World of Analogue Photography is not just taking a photo but the result of your work reflecting the combination of how you take a photo, film processing, scanning, and printing. I'm madly in love with analogue photography.

When you tested LomoChrome Metropolis film, what can you say about the film's look?

I personally use Lomography films because each of them has their own characteristic. I ordered LomoChrome Metropolis since the moment I heard about the news that Lomography will launch the new film which is LomoChrome Metropolis on Kickstarter. When I received the scanned negatives from my first roll. I found that the film color and grain is very unique, and it is what I was looking for.

Please tell us about your concept of 3 photo sets?

The concept was Female Portraits. All people are beautiful precisely because of their uniqueness!

From the 3 sets you shot, which one do you like the most and why?

I love all of them because of the combination of each photo in each set will represent the beauty of the person I took their photos

Do you think who is suitable for LomoChrome Metropolis film?

LomoChrome Metropolis is suitable for all situation and for everyone. This is a very fun film to use and you could adapt how you adjust the ISO setting on your camera prior shooting to create the photos according to your creativity. A must try film! Especially for portrait and street photography.
